Hey, everyone!

Let me be your personal guide to unlocking the secrets of your spice rack.

And I say secrets because your spice rack is really the best kept secret in your home.

It is an amazing toolkit full of super useful plants that can really make a difference when used for preventing sickness in your home and taking care of everyday common home ailments.

What is amazing is you don’t have to learn about any new herbs or spices, you can just learn more about how to prepare and use the spices you already love.

Today we are going to roll out a couple of common spices to help with hay fever and seasonal allergies that I see so many people suffering with right now.

Watch this short video to see exactly how to make Hay Fever Honey Tea.

Hay Fever Remedy Ingredients

Black Pepper: Decongestant, drains chronic mucus

Cumin: Warms and dries up excess congestion

Turmeric: Anti-inflammatory and decongesting

Honey: Warming and helps to break up congestion. Some people like the benefits of using local honey.

Hay Fever Honey Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons powdered turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons powdered cumin
  • 1 teaspoon powdered black pepper
  • About 1 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Combine the turmeric, cumin, and black pepper in a half-pint jar.
  2. Pour the honey into the jar and mix everything together well.
  3. Cover with a lid and store for up to a year.
  4. To use, put 1 tablespoon of the honey in a cup. Add boiling water and stir.

Remember: This remedy is not appropriate for pregnancy and black pepper can alter the absorption rate of medications. Like I always say, if you are on medications or have a chronic illness, you want to get an herbalist, acupuncturist or naturopath on your team to help you navigate things in a way that is tailored to your specific situation. There isn’t a one size fits all when using herbs and spices and everyone is different.

I would love to hear from you! Leave me a comment and let me know how this helps your hay fever. I would also love to know what your favorite hay fever remedy is.
