Herbs for Cold and Flu

This cold and flu tea contains three powerful herbs: echinacea, red root, and calendula.

echinacea

Echinacea

Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea, E. angustifolia) root will activate your immune system. Be sure to use cultivated, not wild-harvested, echinacea because this herb is at risk of being over-harvested in its native environment.

Red Root

Red root (Ceanothus americanus) is also known as Jersey tea or New Jersey tea. This herb will tonify and support your lymph. This is important because lymph fluid brings nutrition to the cells. It cleans up waste and dead cells. It also delivers part of the immune system to areas of the body.

calendula

Calendula

Calendula (Calendula officinalis) will do the job of stimulating circulation and helping to deliver the other two herbs. Calendula is also a very antiviral and antibacterial herbal remedy, so it is the perfect herbal tea for preventing a cold or flu.

All of these herbs can be purchased from Mountain Rose Herbs.
