Gifts from this plant: The pale blue chicory flowers are edible. Garnish your drinks, salads and desserts with them. Try sautéing some young chicory leaf with your chard or kale. The root is a cholagogue, which means it supports the flow of bile from the liver and gall bladder and can help with constipation. Chicory root tea also contains inulin which supports a healthy digestive tract.
